Rose Theatre Bankside/Barons Court Theatre/Old Blue Last 2009

A dramatic celebration of the range and diversity of Shakespeare's female characters.  The year is 1616.  Will Shakespeare has returned to Stratford at the end of his glittering career, now a dying man cared for by his wife and daughters.  As he slips in and out of conciousness the women around him take on new and familiar forms as they bring to life the vibrant and extraordinary characters from his plays. The show fused Shakespeares language, through extracts from his works, with physical theatre, visual images and music.  Performances Upstairs at the Old Blue Last, at the The Rose Theatre, Bankside, and at the Baron's Court Theatre, Kensington from Oct to Nov 2009.

Cast: Alexander Gordon Wood, Jeryl Burgess, Jennie Fox, Laura Darrall and Darrie Gardner.

Creative Team: Elizabeth Elstub (Director) Darrie Gardner & Jennie Fox (Co-writers/script adaptation), Catherine Beech (Prop Maker), Ben Cowen & Anthony Friggens.  See reviews here
